clean - sealing copper

I make copper items using house wiring and I am now getting into jewelry and would like to know an easy way to seal the copper, like a dip or spray. Also I would like to know how to get a nice polish and a nice green patina.

Thanks in advance.

Copper spirals

Hi! I was wondering how to make a simple copper spiral like the main tribe pic. I am a newbie to wire work. Is there a particular type/thickness of copper wire that would allow me to make a spiral-sphere that is flexible enough to put a tumbled crystal in it to be worn as a pendant? Does anyone have any good variations/instructions of this design?

Thank you and Brightest Blessings!
Petra :)

I am slowly claiming space back in the garage of my new house. It's a two car garage, but it is still the sorting and staging area for the post move in carnage. I have started putting up shelves and pegboard to organise my junk, I mean art supplies.

So while doing this and moving around come rolls of copper and leftover tile, I had the idea of fountains or water features using wire, or wire mimicing water flows. Thus, WireFall popped into my mind and I am close to finishing my first piece. Please leave some thoughts about it. I have sketches of a few more and am moving to a clearer epoxy so far.

I'll post a shot in the new pictures.

I do beaded jewelry and would like to incorporate wire into the mix. More like wrapping stones as pendants and making rings and stuff. Are there any good books out there for a first timer?

I was just at the hardware store eyeballing all the copper wire they had, thinking that it's been a long time since I made anything out of copper wire, and maybe I should get into it again. I was itching to buy some but I didn't, because I'm already neck deep in art projects. Then I came home and found this tribe! I'm afraid I won't be able to resist much longer.

Well, my current creations have been all spherical. From 1" to 12" in size. The smaller softball sized ones are great for arm hand excersizes while sitting at the PC. The larger ones have ended up in a garden.
